- What is Wishwell?
- Wishwell is a gifting circle. People post items they wish for from Amazon, and generous sponsors chip in — a little or the whole amount. When a wish is fully funded, our team places the Amazon order and it ships straight to the wisher.
- How do I make a wish?
- Sign in, tap “Make a wish”, and paste the Amazon link to the item. We pull the real title, photo, and price directly from Amazon — prices are never typed in by hand, so sponsors always see the true cost. Add a short story about why it matters to you, then confirm your private shipping address.
- Who sees my shipping address?
- Only you and the Wishwell team. Your address is stored separately from your wish and is never shown to sponsors or other visitors. Sponsors see only your first name and last initial.
- Can I give part of a gift's cost?
- Yes — that's the heart of Wishwell. Every wish can be funded by many sponsors. You choose any amount, and the funding bar shows everyone how close the wish is. You can also leave a note for the wisher.
- What does it cost to grant a wish?
- Your contribution goes toward the item's real Amazon price. At checkout we add the sales tax for the wisher's delivery area, a shipping allowance when the item doesn't ship free, a small 3% mishap buffer (refunded if unused), and an 8% Wishwell fee that keeps the site running. You always see the full breakdown before you pay.
- What happens when a wish is fully funded?
- The wish locks at its full price, our team places the order on Amazon, and the item ships directly to the wisher. The wisher sees the first name and last initial of everyone who contributed, plus any notes they left.
- How are prices kept up to date?
- Wish prices come from the live Amazon listing and are refreshed automatically every hour, and again right before any payment or order. If a price changes, the funding target updates — never below what sponsors have already given.
- What if a wish never gets fully funded?
- Contributions stay attached to the wish while it's open. If a wish is removed or can no longer be ordered, contributions are refunded to the sponsors who made them. See our refund policy for details.
- How does Match Maker work?
- Tell Match Maker your budget and what you care about, and it suggests real open wishes that fit. It only ever recommends actual wishes on the site — never invented ones.
